Project Narrative:
Following the devastating 2003 earthquake in Bam, Iran, reconstruction efforts revived the city’s urban and cultural identity, centered around the symbolic Arg-e Bam. Now entering a new phase of growth, a proposed cultural–touristic–commercial axis reinterprets the traditional Iranian bazaar, drawing from the Kerman Bazaar and Arg-e Bam. Designed for Bam’s harsh climate, it incorporates passive cooling, shaded spaces, and drought-resistant greenery, aiming to restore civic life through a resilient, heritage-driven urban spine.e.
